A series of painterly images and short videos of models laying on the black sand beaches, the fashion campaign for Craig Green’s AW16 collection is shot by a drone.

Reminiscent of a documentary shoot rather than fashion commercial, the campaign shows all 30 looks from the designer’s AW16 collection. It is presented in a series of six images showing each different group of models, flipping through the changing moods of the collection. Centered around workwear, utility, and uniforms, the garments reflect Green’s both romantic and futurist style. The images, taken by a painfully automatic tool, are nevertheless painterly and dreamy, opening a new way of fashion image-making. “I thought there was something quite great about them looking almost like National Geographic – scientific and cold in some ways, the image is so romantic of all the boys together,” described Green in a recent interview.

UAE-born Central St Martins graduate Khalid Al Qasimi debuted his eponymous menswear label in 2009 during Paris Fashion Week. Seven years on, QASIMI‘s SS16 collection, entitled ‘False Flags’, epitomizes the brand’s DNA with a minimal take military aesthetics, inspired by traditional Middle Eastern dress. Featuring longer lined shirts layered with sleek outerwear – bombers, parkas and car coats in poplin and voile cottons – the palette remains muted and harmonious. QASIMI’s identity is further reflected in “the finishing’s of each garment, [which] centers in on the core aspects of military costume and architectural shapes.”

German photographer Marcus Schaefer shot a menswear editorial for Sleek Magazine, set in ‘the sticks’ near Berlin. Amidst desolate surrounds, the shoot features a range of clothing from the likes of Giorgio Armani, Acne and Dries Van Noten, styled by Patrick Pendiuk in an experimental style. Coats are worn backwards, forming expressive shirts, tops are layered, draped and tied, and trousers with legs of varying length are rolled up. Conveying a distinctly ’70s mood, the editorial blurs fashion’s gender boundaries and in doing so, offers plenty of progressive sartorial inspiration for the transitional seasons.

HRVST opened its doors in 2009 after shop-owner Philip Stolte finshed his graphic design degree. The idea concept, corporate design and interior design of harvest where all part of his final thesis which he then went on to put into practice. HRVST stocks brands, such as Folk, Our Legacy, Acne, Adidas, Band of Outsiders, Dear Cashmere and Kitsuné Parisien.

The shop itself was Philips father’s atelier for 30 years, where he also worked as a graphic designer and has been transformed into a beautiful and well thought out store. The name HRVST comes from ‘harvest’ and the idea that in farming as well as fashion there are different seasons – spring summer – autumn winter – with the same basic idea of trade. The themes that inspired Philip whilst creating the logo and name for HRVST are mainly nature, wild west, classic and tradition. Until lately the shop offered only menswear, though meanwhile you’ll find an equivalent for women named Sprout store. Besides of womenswear it offers cosmetics, ceramic, jewelry and accessories.
