]]> Milan-based architect Victor Vasilev designed KUB, a nearly invisible bathroom sink. The minimal design is available in two sizes and features a combination of marble and glass. When looking at the structure from the side, the sink seems to disappear into the room. The KUB basins belong to a series of objects, which all carry Vasilev’s signature clean style.

]]> The architects behind stpmj built an invisible barn that mirrors the Californian landscape. Siuated in the Tahoe National Forest, the building is made of wood and sheeted with reflective film on its surfaces. This way, it appears to be invisible and fits in seamlessly with the surrounding nature. By projecting the trees, plants and the sky, the design of the barn appears to be at the intersections between sculpture and architecture. ‘Invisible Barn is a folly that loses its man-made architectural presence in nature but adds novel experience and interaction to the users’

]]> Most sculptures are meant to be seen but the ‘Invisible Barn’ by STPMJ isn’t recognizable at first glance. STPMJ submitted it for the Folly 2014 competition and even though it didn’t win it’s a remarkable work reflecting the landscape of the surrounding park as the seasons change.

At some angle the viewer would see windows that seem to float in the air. Seen from a different spot, the illusion of a structure appears. Seen from above the Barns reveals itself as a long, flat parallelogram.
