Animated Illustrations Bring U.S. Cities To Life

Kirk Wallace and Latham Arnott teamed up to bring some US cities to life through as few strokes as possible. Kirk illustrated very minimal cityscapes while Latham animated the resulting images, keeping the original, minimalistic style. While there are only a few popular cities done so far, there will be more on the horizon to keep your eyes out for.
In the meantime, these designs make great wall art, printed by the designer in his studio available to purchase online.

Japanese illustrator Nimura Daisuke creates adorable GIFs and other whimsical drawings that just make our day. His characters experience small everyday adversities, that everyone can comprehend and we’re just charmed by his drawings of a woman flashing at a man as he looks the other way, or an unfortunate schoolboy leaning over and having the full contents of his rucksack falling to the floor.

Besides his GIF art, you’ll find some more charming illustrations in his portfolio that are usually based on some thick linework and cartoon-like character along with a pastel colour palette.

Clones Project by Erdal Inci

Artist and photographer Erdal Inci has created a hypnotic series of GIFs that takes the concept of cloned motion to a truly eerie level.

He states: “I realized that if you clone a recorded performance contiguously it will become perpetual. So that you can see all the time phases of the same performance in a small amount of time like 1 or 2 seconds. This gives you the chance of thinking like a choreographer with a mass crew or painter who fills its frame not in forms and colour but motion. At this point I could tell I am inspired by patterns in traditional arts & crafts , dance and repetition. The Gif Connoisseur is a Tumblr blog of edited GIFs sourced from various creators. The main draw of the blog is its feature of a man in a light blue suit who seems to be gazing at a famous painting in a museum but instead he looks at various moving, digital images. His posture appears oddly nonchalant considering the psychedelic movements he is staring at though it gives the whole project a quirky and humorous touch.
