A few months ago Uniqlo opened their first German store in Berlin. The Japanese manufacturer became famous for what Japan is best known for: understatement.

Their aim is to create clothing for all, going beyond age, gender, occupation, ethnicity, and all other ways that define people. Therefore they rather concentrate on simple, clean cuts, combined with high-quality materials to create timeless items with a reasonable pricing. We now took a closer look at their current Denim collection that you can purchase for the trial price of 29,90 EUR until the 27th of August. Get a first impression of the collection in the following Cinemagraphs that we produced around Berlin.

We’ve already introduced the amazing Cinemagraphs by Kevin Burg and Jamie Beck. As an homage to the place they’re living, and working, they created the animated series ‘Seeing New York – through my Giorgio Armani lenses’, showing us the world trough their eyes.

The result is a series of intriguing moving pictures that make us feel as if we were right there, observing Times Square, Central Park and the Grand Central station through the classic Armani lenses. If you are interested in the glasses, you can find them here.

And once again the group of Japanese friends comes up with some new rrrrrrrroll gifs, which haven’t lost their creativity since our last post. As always the animated gifs show pictures of people and objects constantly rotating around their own axis. The makers photographed the pictures mainly during their common activities and aim to keep the outcome as simple as possible. Due to that the gifs don’t seem hectic though they turn perpetually – similar to a babbling brook or a roaring fire one can enjoy staring at them for hours. And here we go again.

I really enjoy the Cinemagraphs by Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg. At a first glance you might not even be aware of that something in the picture is moving, while everything else stands still. Though their pictures aim to capture the most delicate parts of life, fleeting moments of time, the beat of a city or the breath of a human. In their Cinemagraphs they come alive and live forever whereas a photo is frozen and a video is a linear description of time and can only be engaged through the act of pressing play. A picture says a thousand words but the Cinemagraph take you there.

The project rrrrrrrroll is made by a group of friends from Japan. They were all thinking how cool it would be to produce something while just hanging out together when they started to make their amazing animated pictures. The small GIFs are showing people or objects turning around their own axis. Most of the pictures have been produced on a short trip where the group of friends spent half the time shooting and just had fun being together. The reason the gifs are rolling is because they wanted to make the animation as minimal as possible and also because they wanted to make something that expresses flow of time.
