We’ve already featured the work of Lin Yung Cheng, also known as 3cm, a Taiwanese artist who puts his observation of society behind his portraits of women, femininity, and women’s bodies.
In a statement about his work, he says: “Photography is not only a way of expressing emotions, but also a media through which to discover the surreal in our everyday lives. The combination between the daily life and the imaginations/illusions by reading poetry is the way to create diverse photography. …Developing a multi-dimensional sense of space and creating irrational images makes the audience connect with the concepts. The absence of facial expressions in the photos is a method to help the audience put their own emotion into the photographs, and let their imagination lead the way to appreciate the work.” Who enjoys Lin Yung Cheng’s work should also take a look at Kostis Fokas photography which has a similar, conceptual approach.
