Fine art photographer Brooke DiDonato’s work blurs the boundaries of fiction by fusing real life narratives with surreal, dreamlike elements.
Based in New York City, but grown up in Ohio, Brooke received her BA in photojournalism from Kent State University in 2012. Her photos show partly unclothed people, placed in front of walls, on different furnitures or in the yard. The pictures demonstrate a condition when your house is no longer the safe place where you want to be. Her work illustrates the narratives of the psyche by combining common human experiences with intriguing visual elements. The artist is inspired by the subconscious and its correlation to emotions and insights, so the viewer is basically placed in the middle of a story.
