New Wooden Sculptures By Paul Kaptein

We’ve featured Paul Kaptein and his wood work previously on iGNANT. Now he released two new works entitled ‘and in the endless sounds there came a pause’ and ‘Every breath, a dying star’. We’re still drawn to his intriguing sculptures that are inspired by real life as well as fantasy which makes them appear realistic yet surreal. The Australian-based sculptor uses laminated wood to create a dialogue between expansion and contraction, “the panels slip and slide, creating their own holes which exasperate the gaps in the fabric of the universe.”
